Hi, my brother and I have inherited my mother’s property. He has lived there most of his life and I have no wish to see this change. For that reason I have offered to sell my half of the property to him. To help him buy me out I am also happy to loan him quite a bit of money but need to ensure I get this returned in due course. We have discussed he will repay in a few years from his pension lump sum. How are we best writing up this type of agreement with a solicitor, charge against the property, personal loan, other? Whilst I’m happy to not see the money returned for a period, I do want to ensure it is repaid to an agreed schedule.
