I just bought an AlphaSmart 3000 off of eBay and have some questions regarding some issues I've encountered.
I tested the keys and everything worked except for the space bar (worked when I hit it just right, but not reliably), the number keys are locked to the special characters, the enter button doesn't work, and the left shift deletes the previous character.
I used canned air to clean under all of the keys, which did not resolve the issues.
I replaced the coin battery, which has resulted in the "an unexpected data loss" message. It does not allow me to select Y on that message, so it cannot be cleared.
I have also attempted to do a factory reset (hold right shift and backspace, then hit the on button) but that is also unsuccessful.
Any recommendations on next steps?
