Defeated Honor Mode with my Tav fire sorc, Shadowheart wife giants barb, Laezel murder aura druid, Karlach beastmaster.

Honestly Tav did almost nothing at the brain since he got interrupted.. Laezel parked near the brain and set up an invulnerability orb. Shadowheart got mad and threw Nyrulna at the brain for around 70 damage. Orpheus slapped the brain with some psychic damage. Karlach hit the brain with 2 abberation arrows and that was that.

So, happy to have beaten honor mode, it was my 4th playthrough, but now I need to finish my 3rd one.. with the golden die 😃

Hi,

On my 4th playthrough I decided to play Honor mode (after 3.5 runs on tactician).

I planned ahead quite from the start and I did bigger bosses when I was level 6 (like the hag, the gith patrol, the creche)

The one I dreaded the most was Orin, because on my Durge Tactician run I could never solo her and it was otherwise hard-ish to get her.

On Honor mode, she gets a reaction which is her 7swing attack and if you don't trigger it Bhaal debuffs one of your party with a condition that if you don't kill anything this run, you die.

Party composition:

Tav - half-orc fire sorcerer with fire hat, dual wielding Markoheshkir and Spellsparkler, coruscation ring, callows glow ring, Psychic Spark for extra magic missile

Shadowheart - giants throw barbarian with a big arsenal (returning pike, Nyrulna, Dwarven thrower and other spears)

Karlach - Beastmaster ranger with a goading bear, dual crossbows (one +2, one ne'er misser), sharpshooter, risky ring

Laezel - Emotional support land druid with bhaalist armor

Minions: Us, lv6 lightning myrmidon, 4x ghouls from the necromancy of thay, Dryad, her boyfriend, 2 ice memphits

Buffs: aid 6, hero feast, longstrider, freedom of movement, warding bond (3 camp clerics), death ward, elixir of vigilance x3, bloodlust x1

Strategy:

It WAS to sneak karlach and attack her but she initiated the fight mid-arrow flight..... and I lost the rolls so Halsin died.

Then she turned into the slayer and finally the arrow hit her.. (-1 unstoppable)

My 4 characters were before her.

Shadowheart threw a haste spore.

Tav went inside it and casted : 1x level 6 magic missile (9 hits with amulet) + arcane battery from the staff. Orin had 2 unstoppable left. Then Tav cast lv6 scorching ray for 7 hits. Finally Tav cast another lv5 scorching ray for 6 hits. Orin was at around 140hp.

Shadowheart thew her Nyrulna twice with cold enchantment and the boss had around 60hp left.

Emotional support Laezel cast one lv6 call lightning and Karlach fired off her last shot to finish the monstrosity.

My other minions didn't need a turn for this.. they helped afterwards to clean up.

I was so nervous for this one but fortunately it went well.

I think I am ready to ally with Gortash and go fight the Brain. I will go through the sewer and make an invisible run afterwards. Hopefully it goes smoothly.

I hope this description helped somebody, the Orin fight is not that hard if you prepare for it!
