H and R issues
I moved to Canada in 2024 and H&R Block filed my first Canadian tax return. Recently, H&R told me that CRA shows I’m missing tax returns from 2016–2023, which makes no sense because I did not live in Canada before 2024.
I also received a DOB mismatch notice because my return apparently used May 3 instead of my actual DOB, May 10. H&R prepared the return and had all my immigration and personal information when filing.
One H&R office told me maybe my newcomer status was not entered properly on my first return. Has anyone experienced this before? Does this sound like a filing mistake by H&R, and can they fix it, or does CRA have to manually correct the residency information?
