I moved to the UAE and like many others, I started applying for jobs everywhere—LinkedIn, company websites, referrals—but nothing really converted into actual opportunities.
After a while, I realized I needed something that would make me stand out instead of just being another CV in the pile. That’s when I started learning about websites and SEO. At first it was confusing, but once I understood how search engines work, how businesses get traffic, and how websites convert visitors, it completely changed my perspective.
I began practicing by improving small projects, learning about keywords, site structure, and performance. Slowly, I started seeing results—websites ranking, getting traffic, and actually bringing in leads.
Now instead of just applying for jobs, I’m also helping businesses improve their online presence, and it feels much more in control compared to waiting for replies.
Just sharing this in case anyone here feels stuck in the UAE job hunt—sometimes building a skill can open completely different doors.
Would love to hear if anyone else took a similar path instead of traditional job applying?
