Prucalopride before microbiome test
I already did a SIBO test 1,5 years earlier (it was positive) but my symptoms don’t wanna get better so I figured I’ll do a gut microbiome test to see what’s going on in my gut.
My problem is that I started birth control pills for adenomyosis and it really slowed down my motility. Before this I was regular but I had constant diarhea like stools.
I started to take 0,5 mg prucalopride to get my poop urge back and it worked.
I should stop taking motility agents before my gut test, but if I don’t take prucalopride, I wont poop. But I need poop for my test. So it’s a vicious cycle.:(
My guestion is:
Would taking my usual dosage of prucalopride really affect the microbiome test that much?
My symptoms are the same as before birth control and prucalopride, so I think if there’s a big problem in my gut, it would show anyway. But I might be wrong??
