As an immigrant to the UK (England) and as a student, I have had to pay rent in advance instead of providing a guarantor.

With the RRA coming into force, I have been asked at the last minute to now provide a guarantor or face a section 21 notice.

I don’t want to pay a really high fee every year for a company to act as a guarantor, and I wouldn’t be able to provide a UK resident as guarantor.

I wanted to ask if there are any other ways of guaranteeing which are less common? For example is it possible to keep an account in escrow?
