Heard this one a lot from the community over the past year:

Fair point. We just shipped Configurable Data Retention to Public Preview.

You can now set retention anywhere from 1 to 120 days, per warehouse. That number governs every recovery-related capability in the warehouse: time travel, clones, restore points, snapshots.

Gotchas worth knowing

• Reducing retention is permanent — GC cleans up data outside the new window. Bumping back up afterward won't recover what was deleted.
• Restore points still auto-created every 8 hours, but scaled proportionally to your retention.
• Default remains 30 days if you don't touch it.
