Worth it at this point to get bachelors?

I’m in my early thirties and make about 90k in a corporate job. I’ve been working since I was 15 and always wanted to go to college but moved out early and never wanted the debt. Now I’m finding I’m running into more degree requirement barriers at my company and in my field that have me considering getting a bachelors in business or communications just to jump the hoop.

Some bosses at my org do not care and think sufficient experience counts and others are adamant about a bachelors, doesn’t matter what it’s in. I would have to do an accelerated online program outside of my full time work but it would be a significant cost.

I want to be able to keep advancing and being competitive but I hate to think it’s literally just to check a box. Is it worth it? I have friends with degrees who are unemployed and desperately seeking any job right now which is also scary. Feel like I’m at a crossroads like it’s either time to do it and bite the bullet or keep going as I have been which hasn’t been bad so far.
