I still think those middle last two stages are a bit overtuned, but it is what it is. If my Carthy can clear it while it's an anti-aero tower, it's fine.
Actually, this is the first time I cleared 36 stars. Until now, without Hiyuki, I didn't had enough solo viable nuke characters since Lynae is a SubDPS and so she is weak while Cammy is an outdated MainDPS.
With some tinkering, I made it work. Outside the middle first floor with Lynae, everything was done on phone too.
Some people said they made the enemies more spongy, but I didn't really felt like it. You can even see that despite the aero debuff again here with the enemy lineup of infinite torrent, my Carthy (with some help from Cammy for the aero enemies) got similar scores as last time.
This was the second time I did SSS and I do remember the first one, because that's when the HP sponge happened last time. It was right after Carthy's banner. I got SSS when she released, then right after on the next one I only got S. Then after that I couldn't even reach 4500 points. Compared to that, this "increase" is negligible for now when I am still SS.
While I complained a lot about Whiwa early on but got used to it, I have similar problems with Matrix. Whiwa was overtuned with not many characters working in it early on, had to wait until mid-2.X to start getting characters that perform well there.
Here, there are no such gripes, it's a boss rush after all. My real gripe is the astrite rewards being set too high. I think it would have been better if they either lower the 4 team 5K points requirement to 4K or switch the astrite rewards with the total point ones.
So you would have gotten all astrites by "just" reaching 36K, with 58K staying as the title. While the 5K point per team goal should have been the rewards. That sounds a lot more reasonable and accessible even to new players while still locking the title away for high performers.
As for Cycle Rewards and Goals, it's a mixed bag but I think it's fine like this. Last patch, there was confusion how much point you can actually get because some goals that reset said "resets after each cycle" instead of "phase" so the point was lowballed to only be borderline enough until the end of 3.4.
Right now though, only the repeated rewards gives you 420 points with a good amount of hard challenge goals, though some are pretty achieavable, I got one too (and could get the 5K no hit one as well) so it's not just shill goals like that echo and fusion/glacio DMG ones.
I can't do the 8 boss kill yet and the 2 boss kill with one team twice goals, but that's a self made problem due to having every single character I have being a lvl1 bench warmer so it would take time for me to catch them up to be usable. After that though, my high DMG solo viable characters like Carthy and Hiyuki should be able to deal with the double boss goals too.
So in short, there are gripes with Matrix, but you only really miss a bike skin (which I don't really need, why would I use a basic purple Siggy skin when I paid money for the spending event shiny Aemeath one?) and not even that if you have working teams or high dupe characters like me.
All in all, I think Wuwa's endgames are in the right place right now.
Fast weekly mini illusive realm which I hope they expand with Honami maps once the current IR event is over.
ToA is the linear investment endgame and... Whiwa didn't started as such but that become it too, you can solo if you good or have high dupe characters.
While Matrix fits in as a boss rush.
I wonder what kind of new rotating content they plan to find for the game in 4.X, wouldn't necessarily mind if they would instead focused on polishing these three with new things first like they updated ToA and Whiwa one-two times.

Seems like people are fixated on one specific or just a few kind of ways you can do ML and so they are constantly disappointed about something.
Straight out of the gate, ML doesn't mean the game have to go full Snowbreak with obvious innuendos of sex or even every single character being romantically involved with the MC.
Turbo incels already giving themselves a right hook by simply believing Wuwa will ever be that as a self inflicted damage. The other side of extremists is just as idiotic because the MC focus and the characters interest in the MC will forever stay.
ML means the focal point of the story and game is the MC. What small part we see of the characters life will be through the MC while they interact for this or that reason.
Every single character will be INTERESTED in the MC for their own reasons, to different degrees, to different levels. The only constant is the focus on the MC and how they interact with each other.
You have Phrolova with her yearner tsundere act, that is ML. But if another character would come around that is full antagonistic to the MC to the point of obsession... that's also ML even if there is no romantic undertones unlike the first one with Phrolova.
It's better if you realize that you will get obvious love confessions like Shorekeeper, Iuno or Chisa, tamer touchy characters like Cantarella or Lynae to characters showing respect towards the MC like Changli, having a crush like Zhezhi, Aemeath's yandere kind obsession with Rover and many, many more different kind and depth of ML. They wouldn't spam a single kind.
I don't even start on the fanservice topic of people whining how it isn't like it used to be. Not like we didn't just got a gyaru with a miniskirt, Aemeath in a leotard, Sigrika showing most of her front because she wears some bra and that's it and Hiyuki's very not traditional shrine maiden outfit with the sides being cut out to show more skin while also wearing a leotard. Wuwa wouldn't go full gooner game, ever. Since the beginning, they went to an elegant type of fanservice and that stayed since the beginning.
Take this post as you want. I just yapped a bit describing something, I don't care if people understand it or not. It's a single player game. I know I am enjoying what I get as it gets better and better. CN and KR does the same. Really makes you wonder if these two hyper aggressive spaces do, what's the problem here.
