Hello!

My wife (Canadian citizen) and I (US citizen) are planning to apply for spousal sponsorship. I’ve been reviewing the document checklist to understand what we need to complete the process. I noticed a section requiring my birth certificate, but my parents no longer have it. I didn’t realize it would be necessary since I already have a U.S. passport and until I started reviewing the application requirements. I was born in China and came to the U.S. at a very young age, where I later got a citizenship through my parents. Has anyone here, as a principal applicant, successfully submitted a spousal sponsorship application without a birth certificate or had an issue with IRCC? We are married but I am stressing out that we can’t move to be with each other because of the missing document.

Thank you in advance for any help!!!
