Hey everyone, I really need some advice because I’m at my breaking point.

I’m currently on a Blue Card as an Event Manager. My degree is in Management (with a lot of IT/CS focus), but the job market is a mess and my current workplace has become a nightmare. I’m being heavily exploited and mobbed because they know my residency depends on them. To stop me from learning German and leaving, they keep changing my hours so I can’t attend any language courses. I’m basically stuck at A1/A2 because I only have time for a self-paced online course. My mental health is completely shot; it’s reached a point where it’s becoming dangerous for my well-being.

Now, I found a potential way out. A friend works at a company (airport-related) where the environment is super healthy and the hours are stable. Even though it’s "unskilled" work, it would finally give me the time to attend a proper school and get my B1. My contact there even said they could consider moving me to an office role once I have that B1 certificate because they liked my CV.

The catch: My current employer lowered my salary (claiming "financial reasons"), which means my Blue Card is already under review at Auslanderbehörde and it does not meet the threshold anymore. I want to leave ASAP before things get worse.

My question is: Has anyone ever successfully "downgraded" from a Blue Card to a regular unskilled permit? I’ve never taken a cent from the state and I’ve been supporting myself since day one. I just need to get away from this mobbing without being deported or forced back to my country in 2 months. I have my own stable life here, my own place, my partner is also here, and a fulltime unskilled contract that i don't know if i can accept.

I’m currently preparing papers for airport security clearance (ZÜP), but I’m terrified that the Ausländerbehörde will just say "no" because the new job isn't skilled-worker level.

Has anyone been through this? Any advice on how to approach the ABH with this switch? I just want my life back.
