I made a post last week about Durham and there were some interesting responses and it sparked conversation, so I thought Id try again, and ask about NEWMARKET. I lived around markham for a while so im familiar with York Region, but I never really got around Newmarket, and was wondering what the vibes were like over there? Im looking for politically incorrect answers that would get you banned from an ontario or gta general subreddit.

I got tired of the repetitive conversations about wrestling socials, and borderline disgusted at the lack of cultural literacy of this great art, so I decided to try and be the change I wanted to see in the world. So from now on, every week Im going to be putting together a 90s wrestling mixtape, of non major companies. It'll be a smorgasbord of stuff from southern american, puro and luchalibre. My goal is to mix in american wrasslin angles and promos, with puro workratey cagematch lover stuff, and flippy do lucha stuff. If you wanna actually watch wrestling instead of scroll past deranged discourse THIS IS FOR YOU!!

Hey everyone, i run the tape machine discord, a group dedicated to organizing footage of wrestling links sprawled around the internet, and watching as much as possible. Lately as an attempt at a kind of gateway drug to hook ppl on smaller or less discussed promotions, i came up with the idea of creating a wrestling mixtape series that has matches from various promotions of the 1990s, particularly not wwe, wcw, njpw or ajpw. Were gonna have some american, lots of puro and lucha as well

When you look at how run down the area is and how businesses are hanging on by a thread, how long until this part of town becomes slopified the same way modern kensington market is? Im sure they'll have some kind of cultural monument or something that pays tribute to the roots of the area, but I can see the writing on the wall

Ive noticed some more noise coming up from this part of the gta recently from listening to welovehiphop and gtv network interviews. So it got me thinking about whats up with that area, because Ive lived all over the gta (york region, Peel, Toronto) but this is kind of a blind spot for me. Gimmie unfiltered thoughts, like what are the girls like, are trenches even a thing over there, is racism a thing etc just trying to drive some convo because I read a post earlier this month saying this sub is kinda dead, and that would be a shame

Im going on the wcw shoot rabbit hole, and mike graham is always interesting to me because alot of fans dismissed him when he was doing shoots, but i actually agree with him on things re: benoit. Chris really was the villain, he banged kevin sullivan's wife and took his condo and sullivan had to still show up to work and actually booked benoit strong when you consider his limited mic skills and size. Then kevin lobbies to put the belt on chris, so all of benoits friends stage a mutiny and give the higher ups at turner an us vs them situation. Its kind of unreal these things happen when you lay out the facts, yet it seemed like the wrestling press was more sympathetic to benoit at the time, and never revisits this story. What does everyone think?
