BLW starting a bit later…
We intended to do BLW but have been a bit wimpy about it and started with purées at 6m then progressing to mash and a few “easy” solids (Melty sticks, whole strawberries which we take from him before he gets to the core). He does well now with more textured food eg spaghetti chopped up, rice stirred into mashed veg but we are still primarily feeding him with a preloaded spoon.
My question - solid starts tells you how to prepare food. If you are starting late, do you still start with the preparation for 6 months (large pieces), or as he is now approaching 9 months should we follow the 9 month prep (small pieces)? not clear if it’s about age or if it’s a BLW progression (stage 1, stage 2, etc).
just to complicate things he was premature so is a young 9 months (adjusted age 7 months). He loves his food, tends to try to stuff too much in, and now has bottom and top teeth (top ones just coming in now).
thanks and sorry if it’s a silly question!
