I built a not-for-profit platform where strangers anonymously give and receive kindness: Here is what I learnt

A few months ago I started building Blessings as a solo side project while working full time in IT.

The idea is simple. You can anonymously offer something to a stranger, advice, encouragement, a skill, a kind word, or post that you need something. The platform matches you, you chat anonymously, and the blessing is given. No names, no profiles, no social clout. Just people being kind to each other.

It is completely not-for-profit. No ads, no data selling, nothing.

What I learned building it:

Real users find bugs you never imagined. I had to manually confirm email accounts for the first week because of a misconfigured SMTP server.
The hardest part is not the code. It is believing the thing is worth people’s time.
We have real users now and real blessings being exchanged. It has been genuinely moving to watch strangers connect.
Happy to answer questions about the stack, the not-for-profit model, or the build process. Would love feedback from this community too.
