I bought a Tapo D235 and I want to have it on 24/7, so I am aware relying on battery is not an option. For those of you that are using a transformer, can you suggest one and provide a link?
I am based in the UK and all the options I keep seeing have reviews from people who claim a loud humming noise, which would be a problem considering I'll be installing said transformer in a bedroom and feeding the cable outside to the doorbell.
I’ve just spent the last hour going through dozens of extension leads on Amazon, and honestly every single one seems to have at least a few reviews claiming sparks, overheating, or even fires, including well-known brands like Masterplug.
I’m trying to find something reliable because I’ll be plugging in fairly expensive equipment (high-end PCs, console, monitor, etc.). Total load would be around 1500W at most, so well within the limit of a standard extension lead, but I still don’t want to risk damaging anything.
Are these reviews just the usual outliers, or is there actually something I should be looking out for when choosing an extension lead? Any specific brands or features that are genuinely safer/more reliable?
