Of course this is all speculation and possibly fear-mongering!
Doing Outlaw Half Nottingham on 17th May. The National Watersports Centre have reported presence of blue-green algae in the regatta lake, with the site last updated on 29th April. (I happened to see the alert when I went on there to check parking details). Apparently treatment is ongoing.
Outlaw haven't reported anything yet.
Any thoughts on how long treatment takes? Should I panic about an unexpected duathlon?
I know the swim for Outlaw full in 2024 was cancelled because of algae but it seems at that time it was only detected around 4 days before the race, so too late to do anything.
