Is my floppy drive broken or my floppy disks are bad?
Hello I'm trying to format these 1.44 floppy disks by magnex I brought from Amazon I'm using the floppy drive that came on my late 90s PC the harddrive is broken so I'm using wary 5.5 from the live CD to format the disks but when I try to format I get an error on every single floppy disk I currently don't have another drive to test them but the problem seems to be from the bottom side of the floppy disk the top side clicks from start to end about 1s but when is goes back to format the bottom part is clicks faster and doesn't move forward the head emains is the same place clicking and shaking and then gives a error I have tried to clean the head with the cotton sticks for cleaning hears ad a bit of alcohol but still what is the problem is the drive broken or the floppy are bad?
