I have never actually posted Reddit before so hello all and sorry about being so noob.
We are family with tree kids and we are travelling to Romania at July. I actually have business trip to Bucharest but it is only for one day and while I'm in meetings other members of my family are waiting for me and then we are planning to spend almost two weeks in the country.
I would appreciate if you have time to share ideas and instructions with me.
Car rental recommendations? I have a quite good deal with Budget car rental trough my work, but they charge 100€ per one child seat and we need two... Also 100€ fee for crossing border to Bulgaria seems expensive to me. Probably we can get better deal from somewhere else? I think it could be possible to travel with train to BG and then just rent 2 cars, one in RO and one in BG. But seems there is no big cities in BG near the borders and we want mainly focus to RO and just visit in BG for day or two.
We are planning to spend time in Bucharest and then on Black Sea coast. Recommendations for activities in those areas and which beach towns and beaches you are recommending? We are mainly interested in history and then off course kids want do what kids usually want to do like swimming, playing, jumping on trampolines and so on.
Trains: There is private and public companies operating the trains, right? Which site you recommend to use for booking the tickets? I understood that the timetables and prices are published only for next 30 days? Would you travel with kids in trains are those comfortable enough and is the price level good or is it just cheaper to use rental car for all the trips?
Any other ideas, we still have all the options open and we are just booked flights to Bucharest and not have been paying for any hotels or car rentals yet.
