Good Morning, I had a friend that was just offered a tentative job offer on the GS 6, Step 1 scale.
Two questions I did not have answers to and would like some feedback. Thank you!
She has to accept the job within five days, how long would it typically take these days to actually start working in the office?
The job description list some college as a requirement, but my friend has a Masters Degree in Military Social Work and previously worked in this job at a prior duty station as well as moving to a different one in the same field as a GS 8. How (Or should) should she negotiate for a higher step increase based on education and experience? Based on what I have shared, what would you ask for? When does the negotiation process come into play?
