San Jose and Monteverde Soon - Seeking Advice & Suggestions
I happened to stumble upon this subreddit just yesterday and thought how opportune. Flying to SJO later this month for my gal's milestone birthday. Plan to make SJO our homebase and on our second day going to Monteverde to splurge on the glass lounge experience at San Lucas and then staying the night at Chira Glamping Resort. Would much appreciate your counsel and suggestions for our 5 day/5 night stay. Some questions which immediately come to mind are as follows.
* What activities and sights would you recommend we experience in and around SJO (we're willing to drive a couple of hours or so to get there) as compared to your recommendations for MV?
* What would you recommend we stop and see on our way to/from MV?
* San Lucas concierge proposed fairly pricey private transportation (we don't want to take a bus) for our time in MV. We're open to renting a car and would like to know the private transportation options and costs as well as car rental, and thoughts on both.
* Would appreciate your SJO (staying near the Multiplaza Mall) restaurant recommendations from mid-range to higher end experiences, and definitely some local fare.
