“Loose” break lever

So just finished up doing bars and risers on my 08 lowrider. For the most part everything went pretty smooth but now I’m working out a kink. The issue I am having is with the front break lever. It has far too much play in it and dose not retract. It activates the brake light button fine but it will stay on unless I push it forward. What could this be? I feel like eliminating the plunger because it dose work so what am I missing?

Handle bar grips

For context I just pulled the wire through my bars and now I’m getting ready to set all the hand controls up. I’m wondering if there is a way to remove throttle tube for the front brake side the outside of this grip is hard plastic and rubber. And for the clutch side I need the inner part that hand control housing clamps on too is this possible? I’m also using normal vans grips.

A lot of people wanted to see the finished product.
Green scotch brite -> 220 grit (120 for the ridged areas)-> 320->480 ->600->Mothers polish with buff wheel.

Recently got 61/2” risers and low bend bars about 2” rise. Will I be able to route cables through bars without extensions?

Used - green than red scotch brite on the forks, then 220, 400, 600 grit sand paper wet sanded, after wiped clean and used mothers. How should I get scratches out and polish for more of a chrome look.
