I can't get to work and my boss can't change the rota. What do I do?
Basically within the next 2 weeks my travel arrangements to and from work will not be available for one of my shifts. The only way I'd be able to go to work that day is either staying in a hotel the night before, or changing the rota.
My manager is very good. She is very kind, and manages the entire department well. I've never had a bad experience with her, and myself and the other members of the team sing her praises.
However, I let her know a couple of days ago what was happening and she said she would look into it. This has been eating me up, so I texted her again last night only to be told that she can't change the rota, but she really needs me in and to sort it out.
I haven't been able to sort it out lol. I don't really know what to do here except to start looking for another job. My line of work is very specialised, and I'm currently in a good place! I love my job and really do not want to leave. She has also expressed to me that (due to a shortage of qualified workers) she needs me on the team.
Not sure what I'm supposed to do here.
