I have about a year and a half of experience in the golf business post-grad. It’s been pretty solid experience and would be respected by people in the industry.

I just got an offer to be a golf coach at a very well respected school. It’s a great opportunity, but I don’t want to be a golf coach long term. My goal is to eventually be in a high-level leadership position within the golf business.

I’ve been planning on getting an MBA since graduating because a lot of the people in the positions I want to reach have highly ranked MBAs. I’d be looking to apply in a couple of years after gaining more experience.

I’m curious how being a golf coach for the next 2–3 years would be viewed by admissions. I know it’s not traditional business experience, so I’m wondering if that could hurt my chances at a T15–T20 program or for scholarships.
