Hi guys i need some advice or opinion as at the moment im trying to process alot of stuff with my cat, im sad, confused and scared.

My cat is rougly 18-19 years old and has had an infection this was diagnosed through his urine sample, because he wasnt doing well going for a wee in his tray, hes in the all clear now this was about 3 weeks or so ago. He was put on antibiotics and medicine for a week and kept him on the medicine for another week. The vet also noticed hes slightly underweight too. Just after a few days hes urine was going down hill again, we have been advised to keep giving cystease to help.

However we took him back again yesterday regarding his urine sometimes small and sometimes half of a normal one, and still concerned of his weight. The vet did a physical examination, bladder feels fine everything else ok until she felt like a firm lump/bump by his bladder somewhere around there and said this is might likely be why hes having urine issues. And said its not good its bad news. (How with just by touching???) She also asked me if ive ever felt it before and i said I dont remember if I have i wouldn't have a clue on these things. Hes been given prednisolone to help and gain weight.

There was alot to process so I didnt manage to ask how big it is. When we took him in for his infection when I got home and realised the woman didnt feel underneath his tummy etc, now makes me wonder how long hes had this lump/bump there for 😞 and makes me think if its slow or aggressive.

Again when I took him in for his infection, i think his weight was read by 3.25 im not 100% sure, but when we took him in yesterday it shown up as 3.29. If 3.25 is right and now showing as 3.29 could this indicate good news if so? (I know cancers eat what you eat but still).

My mother came with me and said that the vet said its bad news but I asked the vet if its 50/50 good or bad and she said yes. If its bad news then why would she agree to it being 50/50?

Im sorry for the long message and lots of questions but as I said at the start im sad confused and scared 😞 and I dont know what do to. Taking to a private vets is gonna cost me a lot.

Thank you in advance.

Hello,

My senior cat is roughly 18-19 years old, and he's had an infection, its been roughly about 3-4 weeks ago since its been cleared, when we took him in for an examination he was (I think it was read) as 3.25 we took him in again yesterday for another check up and he was read as 3.29.

Just out of curiosity IF the weight exam was 3.25 previously and now its 3.29, does that mean he has put on more weight? If so is that alot?

Also, do you know how fast or slow how they gain their weight back? He doesnt go outside if that helps.

This is something I forgot to ask the vet.

Sorry for the random questions.

Thank you in advance!
