Welcome Pickups call baby vomit "vehicle damage"
We booked airport transfer with Welcome Pickups via Airbnb. Our one-year-old baby got carsick and threw up on the car seat — not the car. Instead of showing any understanding, the driver refused to let us leave the airport until we paid him €20 by card, fully aware we had a flight to catch. He cornered a family with a small child into an on-the-spot payment over a minor cleaning issue. When I complained, their customer service made it worse. They told me there was “damage to the driver’s vehicle due to the bodily functions of the kid” and that the driver was entitled to compensation. Think about that — a company that refers to a baby as “the kid,” calls vomit on a washable seat cover “vehicle damage,” and backs a driver who held passengers hostage for €20. That is not customer service. Do not book with this company.
