Presenting a compound niche?
Like half the posts here, my channel has been slow to get off the ground. I suspect part of the problem is that my niche may be too specific. It's a backing channel, but since I'm not a professional baker, I'm doing it from the perspective of a brewer. In each video, I bake something new and pair it with a specific beer. Maybe there is a chance that the two topics, baking and craft beer, would capture a wider audience, but I suspect it's more likely that it would narrow my audience even further. Unfortunately, changing the channel is non-negotiable since presenting them together is the reason why I started the channel, but my question is more about presentation.
Is it confusing including both the baked goods and the beer in the thumbnail? Is mentioning the beer in the intro delaying the baking part so much that viewers lose interest? I've already started to trim down the introductions to speed things along and and make my titles and thumbnails more focused on the baked goods in order to establish that this is indeed a baking channel. Anyone else have the challenge of balancing two distinct niches?
