When working on a larger work - like the horn concerto I’m working on this summer - I like to plan out all the sections, phrases, their tonal centers etc. in a spreadsheet. I know that that can seem like a lot to other composers so I’m curious: do you plan out your score or do you just wing it? If you’re a planner like me, what do to keep your piece organized?
