Hi everyone,

I’m a 2024 medical graduate and recently moved to Canada. I’m an IMG with no clinical experience yet (no house job/internship), and honestly my basics aren’t very strong at the moment.

I’m planning to pursue the Canadian pathway (MCCQE1, etc.) but I feel quite lost about where to start and how to build a solid foundation.

I would really appreciate advice on:

How to strengthen basics (resources, study approach)

Best resources for MCCQE1 prep

When and how to start applying for observerships/clinical experience in Canada

Any realistic timelines for someone starting from scratch

Things you wish you knew as a beginner IMG

I’m willing to put in the work, just need some direction.
