A Thought and a Question...
I have yet to meet a human artist who didn't learn their skillset from spending time researching the art of other artists who came before then, studying their styles and techniques, and taking bits and bobs ("inspiration") from everywhere along their journey to put together their own style using the tricks and other things learned from all that time studying the work of the other artists they used to learn how to do what theyve learned how to do.
I'm confused why when an AI (which is only capable of doing this process of learning because of the skilled work of a human programmer who designed the incredibly complex code needed to make such an artificial "thinking machine") does it those same people call it "stealing" from the artists the AI is learning from, but not for themselves.
Can anyone help me to understand the difference?
