I have a dormant FBAR in the UK with £0 or very close to - which I forgot the sort code, post code or account number to. (I know this because they sent me a letter stating FATCA and CRS requirements) I may have multiple childhood FBAR that I have no idea still exists. The bank was extremely clear on this: I need to visit their branch to close the bank account along with the above information to even look up my account. I am also tax compliant for the past 6 years via the streamlined programme, excluding said account above.
Do I just.. ignore the form? Amend my tax returns? What do I even put in my tax report? Unknown account number in xyz bank, UK?
I have a job all the way in Australia, and I really don't want to spend thousands to travel all the way to the UK to investigate a £0 dormant bank account.
EDIT: the FATCA and CRS requirement being they need to know my residency status so that i do my taxes properly at the country i'm residing at, which could be the US or others. (paraphrased)
