Bentley University vs. NYU Schack

Hi everyone, I am currently a senior stuck deciding between two great schools that since I had recently got off the waitlist for NYU Schack. I just want further insight to further help me in making a proper choice. I don’t really have any specific conditions. I am interested in real estate but would prefer a background in finance which would be provided at Bentley since I was admitted as a finance major. On the other hand, I’ve gotten off the waitlist for NYU Schack for a real estate major but have admitted for spring 2027. I have researched a lot about Bentley and have come to understand that they have a top ranked finance major and masters degree. I am also fairly flexible on location and social life so I wouldn’t mind either campus. I will list the current pros and cons of both schools that come to mind and apply to my situation. I am also paying $75k/year for Bentley whereas NYU would be $95k/year.

Bentley University:

Pros:
- Top ranked career services and outcomes by LinkedIn, WSJ, etc.
- Top ranked finance major by Niche, Financial Times, etc
- Planning to apply for the accelerated study program which is a 4+1 that guarantees a masters degree.
- Close to Boston and Cambridge.
- Amazing job placement.

Cons:

- Lacking name and branding especially in NYC which is where I’d like to reside.
- Demographic is terrible and social life is mid.
- Doesn’t have a real estate major, unsure if there are any real estate classes but I have heard that they have a new real estate group.

NYU Schack Institute of Real Estate in SPS:

Pros:

- Located in NYC where there are endless opportunities.
- Huge name and recognition worldwide.
- Social life is better.
- Potentially higher outcomes.

Cons:

- Very expensive and probably not worth the price.
- Extremely narrow pathway since it’s hard to transfer into stern and a real estate degree doesn’t do much other than real estate.
- Lacks career services and outcomes compared to Bentley.
- Probably worse as a school than Bentley as well.
- Everyone is telling me to go.
- Admitted for spring 2027 and need to take summer classes. I am unsure if I can just complete a semester somewhere else then transfer.

The price is a big factor but if an extra $20k is what it takes to receive a better education and other stuff then I would take it. Thank you for your time and consideration to whoever reads this post. I hope to gain insight and make a proper choice for my future.
