Hey yall, I’m 23 and about to graduate college with a bachelors in criminal justice and am looking to work in some area of law enforcement, either states agencies or local police departments in Texas. Unfortunately, when I was 15, I was quite rough around the edges and got into an altercation with my mom, which resulted in a misdemeanor family violence charge, which I spent two weeks in juvenile detention for and I think 6 months on probation. It got sealed and my relationship with my mom is worlds better than it was, and I haven’t had any criminal charges since then, but I know that law enforcement still has access to these records. On some applications I have done they’ll ask something along the lines of “Have you ever been convicted of a misdemeanor or felony?”/ In the past 10 years have you been convicted of any misdemeanors or felonies?”, and I’m not quite sure how to answer this. I’ve seen another person in this LE group say that juveniles convictions are classified as “adjudicated delinquent” rather than a true convictions. I obviously should not and will not be dishonest, but I want to give myself a fair chance and I don’t want to get screened out for answering “yes” to those applications questions if minor juvenile cases are not included or considered.

Thanks in advance:)
