In winter of 2024, my wife suffered anaphylaxis due to a dirty needle at work (working as a veterinary technician; dog moved and caused the needle to slip). She was transferred to the local hospital and treated. All well and good.

The company insurance covered the hospital stay and everything without issue. However, they seem to be entirely ignoring the ambulance bill. The bill has been send by us, the ambulance service, and our employer via fax and email, multiple times. We have been in contact with the insurance, who has verbally stated they should be responsible.

Every 6 months or so, like today, we get another bill from the ambulance service. We have not received a approval or denial, or any correspondence, concerning the bill. To my understanding, they need to issue some kind of verdict within a few months, right?

What actions do we have against a stonewalling insurance? What is the best next step? Is there a governing body we can report this to?

Or, are we going to spend more on legal action than just paying the $800?
