I'm on a tight budget and want a used preamp for $1000 shipped, and I really like the Audio Research units such as LS3 and LS7 etc. I'm ok with tubes or hybrids or even solid state if it's AR. I also like Conrad Johnson but have found it hard to find a matching affordable power amp. My favorite SS brand is Bryston, but I'm not sure the sonics on those because I like a warm, smiley face EQ sound. Recommendations?
