Hi everyone,
I’m a 21-year-old male, and I’ve recently been hit with a "hormonal cocktail" that has completely flipped my life upside down. I’m looking for advice, similar stories, or just some hope from other men (especially young guys) who have been through this.
My Background & Diagnosis:
I was recently diagnosed with Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis and Hyperprolactinemia. I’ve been struggling with severe anhedonia, tiredness, no motivation and a total loss of libido.
Latest Lab Results:
• TSH**:** 5.0 mIU/L (High)
• Anti-TPO**:** > 400 IU/mL (Very High - Active Autoimmune Flare)
• Prolactin**:** Currently 5.0 ng/mL (Previously 26.0 ng/ml , now suppressed by medication)
• Total Testosterone**:** 21 nmol/L (Within range, yet I feel zero desire)
-SHBG okay
Current Medications:
Syntroxine (T4): 13 \mu g (Started 5 weeks ago - I feel this dose is too low).
Bromocriptine: For Prolactin. It brought my levels down, but I suspect it's causing some of my emotional side effects and depression.
-selenium and jodid every other basic vitamins
Current Status:
libido is still non-existent.
The "Hardware" works: I have morning wood, and visual attraction is slowly returning. I’ve even managed to have a short successful sexual encounter recently with the help of sildigra.
The "Software" is broken: I have zero spontaneous urge or drive. I feel like my brain is disconnected from my body.
I have a gf who knows everything and that is why I am need to get well as soon as possible.
Questions for the community:

  1. To the guys: How long did it take for your libido to return once your TSH got closer to 1.0-2.0?
  2. Dose: Is 13 \mu g of T4 as low as it sounds? Should I push for a faster increase?
  3. Bromocriptine: Has anyone else experienced emotional "numbness" or depression on this drug? Should I switch to Cabergoline (Dostinex)?
  4. Autoimmune: Does the high Anti-TPO (>400) cause symptoms for you even if your TSH is "in range"?
I feel quite isolated as a 21-year-old male with these "rare" issues. Any feedback or support would mean the world.
I would love to hear similar stories or possible solutions.
    Thanks!
