When you have paid the fair market value of property through a lease, you should own it.
It would reward financial responsibility (on time payments) and give everyone a path to property ownership.
It would limit investor interest in the housing market and ensure the average consumer has a better shot at owning property.
It would disincentivize slumlording, as owners would make a better return by improving property over time.
