Hope you are doing well. So I got an email from instagram letting me know some account was suspended, and telling me it was connected to my email, weird. Haven’t seen that username ever, but I thought to myself, well maybe I did make some fake accounts back in the day, and checked if you can have multiple accounts linked to one email - and the answer is yes.
Still, wasn’t sure if I am that big of a weirdo to FORGET that I made an account so I started checking the email out, looks fine, legit and then I tried resetting the password on my actual account and comparing the emails and found ONE THING!
As you can see, at the very bottom you have “remove your account” on the actual email coming from Instagram, and the address was security @ mail.instagram.com; the phishing one was no-reply @ mail.instagram.com and doesn’t have the option to remove your account.
Idk what they wanted me to do with instagram account that wasn’t even connected to my email but I’m glad I figured it was sus. :)) hope this helps anyone
