Have anyone tried going to AIMA without appointment lately? For residency renewal delay clarifying purposes? I'm helpless. Can't wait no more.

my saga is stretching more than I should.
After being contacted in september to head to the Mahatma Gandhi center for renewing my residency card, they already denied twice the documents asking for new ones (Audiência Prévia) and after I uploaded the last document they required (Housing contract) still NO aswer, no audiência prévia finished. Still with the classic status of "You only have to wait now, no need to go to AIMA's office" etc.
I wonder who have tried going there, and have actually been helped by anyone there? If I know correctly it's only with appointment that they will even look at your face. Some friends said that going there with no appointment can help. Anyone with a fresh experience about this?
Expired residency and renewing it was the absolute worst experience ever in this country. Even paying all taxes accordingly and all shit right. I can't wait to be able to travel and leave it here for a while, so I really really need to get this figured out.
Appreciate any inputs/possible AIMA stores that can be easier to be seen without appointment.
