For context, I purchased a brand new 2026 Elantra from a dealer last month, with 30kms on it at purchase and 2800 on it currently. The car, while it was sitting for a couple of days, developed a bubble in the front right tire. (Pic below)
The service manager indicates that my tire warranty only covers road hazards, such as a nail in the tire, but not something like a sidewall. My contention is, I simply haven’t hit anything enough to damage the tire itself nor the rim, as both are perfectly fine and still brand new (I heard zero noise, pop, or feeling in the vehicle that would’ve indicated a blown sidewall).
Hyundai customer service has said that my warranty doesn’t cover tires at all, and was confused when I read off the warranty coverage listed on my bill of sale. I’m so not impressed, but has anyone here managed to find some way to cover a similar situation? I graduate in less than two weeks, and the car was supposed to be used for a grad trip to out of province, so I’ll be a little upset if I have $250 to drop on a replacement tire for a car which is quite literally a month old.
Thoughts?
