Has anyone tried hour building in the US or certain south American countries such as Argentina? They have way cheaper hourly rates, but I’m not sure if hours flown outside of the EU can be credited toward a CPL for example. If so, does it matter where time is built? I mean, would airlines consider hours built in a different country outside the EU worthless or less valuable?

So I was wondering how flight time is logged in EASA land, since the ICAO country I currently live in resets your flight time count once you pass your PPL exam and check ride, and you need to get 200hs TT from that point to be able to take the CPL check ride. Is this the case also in Europe? Because most people I’ve read here count the 40 or so hours of the PPL course toward their CPL time, and that really puzzles me as I’m considering converting my PPL (I logged 60 hours since my PPL check ride, so my total time following this logic would already surpass the 100hs required for converting).

Edit: grammar
