I got tired of YouTube's flashing thumbnails and colorful suggestions distracting me while watching videos, so I made a small extension called youtublur.
What it does:
- Blur mode — shows a real-time soft blur behind the video that follows the video's colors, like ambient light in a cinema
- Solid mode — fills the background with a simple, eye-friendly light gray
- Works on Chrome, Firefox, and other Chromium-based browsers
- No tracking, no analytics
