Left it late
Watching the goals of the 2014 World Cup on the BBC website and was struck by the BBC saying Germany had left it to late to win the World Cup.
It just doesn't quite feel right for a winning goal in a World Cup final, especially being in extra time. Leaving it late suggests to me a team who is favourite to win scoring a goal in the last 10 minutes or so, rather than two equal teams in a huge match.
