How should one deal with random negative events and misfortunes?

Hello people, so yesterday I started reading "feeling is the secret" and have started trying manifestation. This is the first Neville Goddard book I've read, and I was doing some mental imagination and assumption exercises before I went to sleep yesterday. These manifestations relate to some minor physical ailments

Earlier today, I had one of the biggest arguments in my life, and it came out of the blue. Quite unexpected, and it relates to dealing with an individual who is very mentally unwell and everyone else around them knows as well.

What would Neville Goddard say about clearing away negativities and not lingering on things? I'm naturally a very conflict avoidant person and am quite sensitive to conflict, even if physically I look stronger. Today however, I worked up the courage to be bold and assertive, and the other person lost their mind because I wasn't bending to them. If anyone is worried about me being physically abused or harmed, know that I'm fairly secluded and protected, and most people around both me and that person are on my side. (And I'm stronger than the other person anyway, if a physical fight were to happen).

What suggestions or recommendations does someone like Neville Goddard have for bouncing back from negative events and not lingering on them? From the first two chapters of "feeling is the secret " I read, Neville posits that all feelings create impressions in the subconscious. And the subconscious is the "womb of creation" for your life circumstances and situations. If I've understood that right?

So with negative emotions, how is one supposed to cancel or negate those impressions they leave on your subconscious? (I could try assuming something like "I'm fearless and unbothered" before bed? Or maybe a positive affirmation like "I'm safe and secure")
