Not sure if this is the right place for this post, please point me in the right direction if not.

Had this phone for almost three years to the day. Few days ago, it froze, shut off, and never came back. Took it to uBreakiFix, thinking it may be the an issue with the power connectors, they couldn't fix it. The loading screen comes on when I plug it in, but that's about it. So I'm currently using my older Note 8, had it laying around as a music streaming device.

Any suggestions for data retrieval? They gave me a pamphlet for Drive Savers.

Also, I'm debating between the upgrading to this year's vs last year's model, unsure if there is much of a notable difference outside of cost. Thanks for any suggestions/recommendations.
