I’m doing an assignment for uni and I wanted to use Chinese ink in particular to create a massive piece of work. What are some things I should look out for?

Should I buy a specific brush? Do I treat it like watercolor? If I use pencil to map things out will the pencil tracings show through the ink? The piece is going to be pretty geometric, is that going to affect how I should paint? What kind of paper does it not really bleed on? What kind of paper in general should I be looking for? Help I’m so stressed.
