I'd like some input from the experienced bikers corner! I'm wanting aero bars that do not keep me too tucked. I've got back issues, and I just don't need to be that tucked. I'll take the extra watts over the pain. I see some guys so tucked over, they're about to get hit in the jaw with their knees. Good golly!!

My issue is, I'm seeing a lot of aero bars with no risers on the market. I'd like to be able to rise them in height if need be.

Or I'm seeing I can add stem risers. Is that recommended?

From my inexperienced perspective, there seems to be options.

I'm not interested in buying new bullhorn handlebars with manufactured aero bars, pre-installed, and redo the brake gears cabling.

What would be your recommendation? What am I not thinking about?

I am 44, and I've got degenerate discs in my back where thoracic meets lumbar. Training IS my therapy. Maybe you can relate, but a good mile swim puts my back at ease for a day or so.

Anyone else out there with disc injuries, or problems? I'd love to hear how you cope, and how you balance self-care with training. What has worked for you?

I'm thinking of going back to Chiro. My ergonomic chair is a life-saver. It doesn't hurt when I run. The biking can be painful depending on the day.

I'm going back to sprints, but my dream of a 70.3 is still alive. We'll see!
