cat doesn’t explain itself.
doesn’t justify the nap. doesn’t apologize for ignoring you. doesn’t soften the look it gives you when you’re being dumb.
it just… is what it is. and somehow everyone respects it more for that.
we spend so much time trying to be palatable. trying to be the version that doesn’t bother anyone. shrinking down so we fit somewhere we never fit anyway.
maybe the lesson is just… be the cat. be the warm-spot occupier. be the one who knows where she belongs and doesn’t need a permission slip.
