How did a company get my resume/details when I never applied to them?
So this morning, an HR from a company called *BSI* called me out of nowhere. She knew my full name, address, bachelor’s degree, and phone number. She immediately started giving interview details: date, time, location, all the usual stuff and my interview is apparently tomorrow at 9 AM lol.
The weird part is… I do NOT remember applying to them at all. It was literally my first time hearing their company name.
For context, I only submitted my resume to:
- one clinic
- one pharmacy retail chain here in our province
That’s it.
After the call, I messaged the HR:
“Hi, I just wanted to clarify the role being offered. Based on your company profile, it seems like it is focused on accounting, HR, IT, and compliance services. May I ask what specific position is being offered, and how it relates to pharmacy or healthcare, if at all? I also don’t recall submitting my application, so I’d like to confirm how my details were obtained. Thank you.”
But until now, walang replyyy.
Now I’m honestly concerned cus how tf did they even get my personal information and resume? Is this normal recruitment stuff? Did one of the companies I applied to possibly share my resume? Or is this some invasion-of-privacy type situation?
Has anyone experienced something similar?
