* If you have given 5 - 8 or more mocks for Rohtak, just go through 5 of them again. Note down your weak topics, solve questions for those topics only, and revise the rest. Do this till 8th. On 9th, till evening, just revise formulas and you will be good to go. Along with this, give 3 hours for CUET.

* If you have CUET near IPMAT Rohtak and you were well-prepared for Indore, focus more on CUET. For Rohtak, give 3 hours daily (revisit 3 mocks, note down weak topics from these mocks, revise and solve a few questions till 8th). On 9th, give 4–5 hours for IPMAT Rohtak formula revision.

* If you have given 0 to 3 mocks for Rohtak, give 3 mocks and analyze them over the next 3 days. The last 2 days should be only for revision.

* If you have applied for IPL as well, you will have to attempt Section D too. So after finishing QA/VARC/LRDI, you need to stay seated at your computer.

* Print your admit card — black & white or colored, both are fine. Just make sure it is clear.

* Stick your photo on the admit card in the space provided. No need to sign anywhere.

* Carry your Aadhaar card, a transparent water bottle, and avoid any jewellery/accessories.

* Reach the centre by 8:00 AM at the latest. Entry will close at 8:30 AM

Step 1: Check the Syllabus

Start by understanding the complete syllabus for IPMAT.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t2jCYjPQgSg

Step 2: Understand the Exam Pattern

Go through the exam pattern of all three IPMAT exams (Indore, Rohtak, JIPMAT) to understand:

  • Sections
  • Question types
  • Time limits
  • Marking scheme

Step 3: Books to Start With

Begin with the right resources: https://www.iquanta.in/details/iquanta-ipmat-books

QA

  • Arun Sharma CAT Book (Focus on LOD 1 & 2 only)
  • NCERT Class 11 & 12 (for basics like Trigonometry, Binomial Theorem, Sets & Venn Diagrams)
  • RD Sharma (Class 11/12) (for tougher practice, optional)

VARC

  • Arun Sharma CAT VA Book (RCs, Parajumbles, Idioms & Phrases)
  • Pearson Guide for IPMAT
  • Word Power Made Easy (Vocabulary)
  • IPMAT Past Year Papers

LRDI

  • S. Chand
  • RS Aggarwal (Logical Reasoning)

Practice Resources

  • Solve IPMAT past year papers regularly
  • Use topic-wise question banks

Step 4: Study Plan & Topic Sequence

Once your resources are ready, focus on:

  • Studying topics in a structured sequence
  • Completing one topic at a time
  • Solving 100+ questions per topic

Ask doubts daily (preferably by noting them down and resolving them consistently).

Step 5: Timeline & Mock Strategy

  • Complete the syllabus in ~6 months
  • After completing 80% of the syllabus, start mocks
  • Attempt at least 30+ full-length mocks

Mock Analysis is Crucial

After each mock:

  • Identify mistakes
  • Analyze weak areas
  • Work on improvement

Daily Practice Strategy

  • Practice is the key, watching lectures alone won’t help
  • Solve at least 15+ questions daily
  • Set achievable daily targets:
    • 5–10 questions per subject (minimum)

Rule: Do not sleep until your daily goal is completed.

Time Commitment

  • Study 1.5 to 2 hours daily
  • Be consistent; missing daily goals will create a backlog and increase pressure

For Class 10/12 Students

  • Focus on improving your academic scores as well
  • A strong academic profile is important for selection

Important Mindset Advice

  • IPMAT is more about consistency than intelligence
  • Stay disciplined and dedicated
  • Be ready to sacrifice distractions and “fun time” temporarily

Tip for Non-Math Students

  • Do not fear Mathematics—fear will only make it harder
  • Math is manageable with practice
  • IPMAT only requires a limited set of higher math topics (~6 topics)
  • You do NOT need to complete the entire Class 11/12 syllabus

Final Note

If you:

  • Stay consistent
  • Practice daily
  • Analyze your mistakes

IPMAT can genuinely become a cakewalk.

IPMAT Indore is scheduled for 4th May, and students have around 10–12 days left for the exam. These last few days are extremely crucial for your preparation.

If you are already prepared, you need to utilise this time strategically. If you are not prepared yet, don’t stress, shift your focus towards JIPMAT as well.

Your first priority should be solving mocks. Try to attempt one mock every day, followed by rigorous analysis, so you can make last-minute improvements in your weak areas.

Apart from mocks and analysis, dedicate 4–5 hours daily to revision. At this stage, revision should include:

  • Going through your notes and formulas
  • Solving 2–3 questions from each concept
  • Trying to solve most questions mentally to improve speed and processing

Avoid picking up any new major topics from scratch at this stage. However, if any small sub-topic is left, you can quickly cover it and move on.

While attempting mocks, focus on developing your own strategy:

  • What to skip
  • When to skip
  • Which questions to attempt

Be aware of your strengths and weaknesses. Initially, skip questions from weaker areas, and revisit them later if time permits.

Do not waste too much time on doubtful questions, as you may not be able to attempt all questions. Be strategic and figure out what works best for you.

If you are not well-prepared for IPMAT Indore (syllabus incomplete or mock scores below cutoffs), don’t panic. These scores are also accepted by other IIMs at lower cutoffs. Start preparing for JIPMAT alongside.

There’s no rocket science, if you have prepared well, you will perform well. Stay strategic, patient, and structured.

All the best!
